Garry Stone, Principal Consultant
As a business development specialist with over 25 years of sales, marketing, commercial and business management experience, Garry has built and managed sales teams, marketing operations and business units in a wide range of environments. His management experience includes working at director level within SMEs, as the general manager of a ground-breaking venture funded business, designing and project managing significant corporate change programmes, and running the national repair networks and service delivery of the UK’s major household insurer.
Garry has directly assisted a wide range of businesses, from innovative pre-start ups and small and growing businesses, and successful regional employers, through to one of the UK’s largest outsourcing suppliers – innovating and delivering market-leading product and services, writing business plans, developing sales, marketing and operational systems and people, and tendering for major contracts. Successful projects have not only helped transform companies, they have also won national and international recognition for clients, including winning the international Lumina Award for original research and innovation, commendations at national industry awards, and winning a DTI e-commerce Award (where an industry-changing supply-chain management system and national consortium was cited on the DTI’s own website as an example of construction industry best practice
As Principal Consultant with BE Group Garry is dedicated to working alongside businesses of all types and size to help them find and win contracts and tenders. This includes working with major corporate buyers and their supply chains, running major supplier development programmes, and devising and delivering a range of “inspiring” workshops that have helped hundreds of businesses gain a vital winning edge. Through his one-to-one support alone Garry has directly helped clients win over £45m in potential contract value in the last two years.
Gill Goulding, Procurement Adviser
Gill is a self-starting business manager with over 25 years of experience in the design and management of projects for a variety of organisations within the private, public and voluntary sectors. Having successfully run her own business, she is fully aware of what it takes to increase business performance and profitability. Experienced in developing businesses within supportive and general needs housing and the construction industry, to name but a few; Gill has witnessed many changes within procurement processes and stakeholder involvement, appreciating the importance of keeping a breadth of current trends. Gill possess great skill in producing winning PQQ’s and Tenders, gaining success in securing multi million pound contracts within highly competitive and diverse market places, including construction, refurbishment, training, the creative industries and support contracts for vulnerable people. Quickly grasping any business concept, Gill is experienced in quality assessment and the evaluation of an organisation’s performance, identification of risk and problem solving implementation. Gill is adept at ensuring details are not overlooked, demonstrated by her policy and procedure development skills. An excellent manager of projects, she has gained her Prince 2 Project Manager Practioner Status.
Paul is the Business Development Manager for the recently launched ‘Business Generator’ supplier development and supply chain management programme. He joined BE Group in May 2009 to set up a London2012 business development and procurement support service-Compete North East- aimed at encouraging SMEs to bid for and win new business from publicly procured contracts. Prior to taking this role he was responsible for setting up a Virtual Reality Innovation Centre on the University of Northampton campus. He has extensive experience in public sector procurement, inward investment, innovation management, economic development and destination marketing.
